Employment/court case

    Need help!
I may be applying for a job in dublin airport as a mechanic, will require airside access. Airports are very serious about security etc. I appeared in court over a year ago but the case was struck out. Will this show up on the garda vetting applocation or do i even need to state this court appearance as it was struck out.
Any advice or knowledge on this would be appreciated

    From here:
What details are disclosed as a result of Garda Vetting? The following may be disclosed to the authorised liaison person in the registered organisation:
    • Details of all convictions not subject to the administrative filter.
    • Details of all cases pending.
    • Non convictions will be considered for disclosure where the circumstances of an offence gives rise to a bona fide concern that the person concerned may harm a child or vulnerable person.

I have researched this extensively and i understand the procedure. Im more confused as to whether i have to state my court appearance as it was struck out. Will there be any record of it as it was struck out?

There will be a record of it. There will be no conviction. The court appearance may not be considered relevant to the position applied for.

It was a drug possession offence. Probably will be relevant to the position unfortunately. Do you know if i must declare this struck out case on the vetting form

No. It was struck out. You will be fine.

I thought that with vetting, the data was provided directly to the employer.

The data will be provided to the employer but i must fill out the form and provide all necessary information

I would advise full disclosure, but the choice is yours. Best that you're seen to be "more honest" than the opposite when compared to the data provided by the Gardai.
