Friend of mine is being let go from her job in a month. She's been there 1 year 4 months. I read on citizensinformation.ie that you need to work at least 2 years to have a statutory right to redundancy, but is the employer obligated to provide anything if she has only been there less than 2 years?

She's not in a union or anything. Standard PAYE employee.

Nope; short of being there for 2 years or more she's only due her notice period as per contract and any outstanding holidays that's she's earned (i.e. if she worked half a year she gets half a yearly allocation, not the full year's allocation).
