Recommendations on parts for upgrade?

Hi guys, well basically my cpu gave up yesterday and I was having issues with my gfx card for the past few weeks so I think I needa change em out, my budgets a bit low at the moment so I needa get the best bang for my buck (I know that means I might go down on some power but I'm fine with that.

What I had previously was:

Gfx: Asus EAH 6870 1GB
Cpu: Amd Phenom II x4 685 BE

Other parts of machine for a better idea with recommendations

Mobo: ASRock 970 Extreme3
Ram: 8GB corsair DDR3 1666Mhz
Psu: 750w antec

I'll also be in need of a new cpu cooler, case size for this isn't a problem.

I've a Sapphire 6850 1GB I'm looking at on donedeal for 70 quid and I've been eyeing up the A10 6800k which seems to have dropped a bit in price to the 120~ish mark. My main use will be low end 3D design (plender/3ds) and gaming (just league/HS so nothing too power dependent).

Any help on this would be greatly appreciated, my budget is ~200 for the lot and I wouldn't really be able to go over it by much.

It looks like that board will take an fx-6300 if the bios was updated to the newer revision:

If it had the newer bios before the CPU died then I'd recommend this, reusing your cpu fan for the time being:

If you could stretch the graphics budget another €30 or so the r7 265 and 750ti are also great for the price.

The GTX750 seems to be ignored around here but it's a stellar card for 100 euro and I'd take it over the 260X, personally. 70 euro on a second hand 6850 is a waste, card is slow by current standards.

Do you know for certain your CPU has failed? CPU's are tough buggers and unlikely to fail unless you really abuse them. Problems with your PC are difficult to pin down sometimes and having multiple issues can be symptomatic of a motherboard or RAM failure, or even a bad PSU. If you could try another cheap chip in your motherboard at least you would know if the PC is worth retrofitting. You could probably sell the chip on afterwards. EDIT: You will need a CPU to update the BIOS on the motherboard if it hasn't been updated to the latest version.
