Glitch with sale price, but card charged (I think?!)

I bought something from an Amazon seller at what appeared to be a very good price. I later got an email saying the price was a glitch and that I could cancel the item and re-order it at X price. However, the amount has already shown in my "pending transactions" on AIB, along with a €1 amount from Amazon EU as a separate reserve transaction.

I got in touch with the seller and as I am registered for Irish VAT and it's a business purchase, I suggested that rather than paying the new quoted price, I pay the price, ex VAT, as I believe is the norm when a seller is selling something to somebody outside their country who has a valid VAT number.

I haven't heard back from them today at all, so I'm just wondering what the situation is if the amount already pending actually ends up being charged to the account?

To be honest, I'm happy to cancel the order and re-order EX VAT as it works out cheaper than the price I ordered at inclusive of UK VAT (Which who knows when I would ever claim back), but I wouldn't be keen on ordering at the new higher price inclusive of UK VAT.

    Any advice appreciated :)

I'm pretty sure that Amazon pay vat in Ireland as they have sales here over a certain threshold.

The price on the website will be with UK vat, but that is adjusted to Irish vat for sales to Ireland.

Yes, that's correct and with purchases from Amazon, VAT can be accounted for no problem.

This sale however was from an amazon seller, not amazon themselves so the same wouldn't apply and with this particular seller, UK VAT is on the sale price.

My apologies, I didn't see the Amazon seller part :o
