Hi.. I need a bit of guidance :) OK so today my hours have been cut dramatically starting from next week I'll be working 16hours. 20hours less than usual.
Anyway my background is I'm 22 (I know there's some age thing with social welfare) have a baby so out of wages childcare will have to be paid. Living with father of the baby but not in a relationship separate rooms :) tmi but I don't think they'd see it just can't afford to live out by myself so rent is halved and that's alot of money and now I will not be earning enough to cover half of rent and half childcare.
Just incase you need his details he got let go 2 weeks ago. But won't mind baby throughout the day as looking for work etc no hassle there so he is not working.
Do you know what I could apply for to help with bills etc? Sorry for long post and thank you in advance

How many days will your 16 hours be spread over? I cant believe the baby's father wont mind him for 16 hours, I would be rethinking your living arrangements, cohabiting precludes you from claiming lone parents and he sounds as useful as a chocolate teapot.

It's over 2 days the 16hours will be worked also it's hard to get the chocolate teapot to mind her for an hour :) anyways I can't afford to live by myself especially now I've been looking and apartments are expensive to rent by myself.. Unless I win the lotto :)

If you've been cut down to a 2 day week, you should be able to claim for the other 3 days. You'll will need a letter from your employer stating your days have been cut.
Think you might also be eligible for rent allowance, you used to be, but I'm not up to date on it anymore tbh.
