I am enquiring as to whether or not there is a specified amount of time from date of applying for redundancy to finding out whether or not your application is accepted?

    Not in my experience.

It's when you are informed you are being made/have been selected for redundancy that limits apply.

Cheers for the reply. Just know people, including myself where the companies have offered it. Where I work it was offered at Christmas but people only found out last week that nobody would get it, a few declined jobs in mean time, where as a relative is thinking about it and the company where they work give a clear concise schedule of 3 months.

    See Citizens Advice

All of the legislation kicks in after notice of redundancy not a notice that a company are looking for voluntary redundancies.

Your employer hasn't broken any rules from what I can see, rather employees have jumped the gun a little (understandable)
