Runway 16/34 in use from 11 p.m. for several nights in the next two weeks

This looks like a repeat of Sunday week (June 15th) last when several late night flights passed over Dun Laoghaire on their approach to runway 34.

Certain suburbs of Dublin may experience a temporary increase in aircraft movements over the next two weeks due to grass cutting on the airfield and essential repairs on the main runway at Dublin Airport.

This work is scheduled to take place from 11pm until 5am on Tuesday June 24, Wednesday June 25, and Thursday June 26. The work will resume for five nights next week from Monday June 29 until Saturday July 5. Work will continue for a further two nights on Monday July 7 and Tuesday July 8.

Tonight (Tue 24th) there is a light (7 kph) headwind on runway 16 so the incoming flights will be passing over de northside, here's hoping we'll get our fair share on the southside later in the next two weeks!

Might take a trip up the beacon on Killiney Hill if we get a very clear night in the next few days.
