    Hi all,

Hope you can help clarify something for me.

I've been in receipt of Jobseeker's Benefit for the past 9 months and I received my last payment last week. My application for Jobseeker's Allowance is currently being processed.

I found out today that I've been accepted onto a Jobbridge placement I interviewed for. I'm over the moon as it's my dream job. I went into my local Intreo office today and advised them I've been accepted on Jobbridge and asked what do I do now.

The officer said they would try and get my claim for JA expedited, but impressed strongly that they will not sign off to let me do the placement unless my claim for JA is accepted.

My question is, can't I sign for credits if I'm not accepted for JA? And isn't someone signing for credits eligible to do a Jobbridge placement?

That was my understanding, but the social welfare officer has me very worried.

    Thanks for your help!

Unfortunately not, for all these job schemes you must be 'in receipt' of a jobseekers payment.

Will you not qualify for JSA if not try fighting your case as you were eligible when the offer was made to you and still are as of now I presume. Appeal if necessary.

You are eligible for jobbridge if you are on a credits claim and you will receive the €50 top up also.
