Hi, I have a job interview on Sunday for the new Airport Drive-Thru which will be opening in July/early August. I'm 20 years old and have only been to one interview in my life. I currently work as a sales assistant in Spar, but not on checkouts just packing out stock from deliveries. Do you think not having till experience would affect the position?

The position is for full-time crew member. What questions could I get asked in a McDonalds interview? I am going to wear trousers, shoes and shirt and tie.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Out of curiosity how long were you're 'About Me' answers?

I'm applying for a the same role in Rathmines.

Be confident. Young people can sometimes be uncertain and fidgety. Most employers can look past it (job interviews are stressful after all) but try to remain friendly, professional and confident - and positive (don't use negative language)

Check their website for guidance on possible interview questions. Also read the company's missions / vision statements, and learn a little about what McDonalds have been up to (new product lines - healthy eating maybe, any work they do in the local community, etc).

I've no doubt there'll be questions based on the value of teamwork, exceeding customer expectations, dealing with problem customers/co-workers. Have specific examples and be confident in framing your answer (the issue at hand, how you dealt with it, and the outcome).

If you're asked why you want to work there, don't forget it's not all about money.. you want to learning about best practice in food preparation, gain retail experience, and possible seek further opportunities.

Regarding till experience.. their tills can't be that hard to use. It's no harm to emphasize you're tech savvy and have a good head for numbers, and you look forward to a more customer facing role.

Finally, the last question in an interview is often "have you any questions for us". Prepare a good one!
