Medical Claim, advice

Hey, im just looking for some advice.
Last year I had a shoulder operation, and afterwards I felt that it hadn't gone right (pain hadn't gone). I kept going back to my consultant, and he just kept saying nothing is wrong.
Eventually my doctor referred me to another consultant, who has just performed a cleanup operation.
My new surgeon, told me yesterday I will never be pain free, as the immflamtion has lead to arthritis, and that they also found part of a stitch in my shoulder, from the previous operation a year ago.
Now I just need to know, is this a claim situation? I have no money for solicitors.
