Looking to upgrade to carbon frame bike,
Been looking for quiet some time now at all the usual , giant, Scott, canyon, rose. Etc.
Don't race, sportive style cycling only.

CRC have regular deals on their vitus range,
But there isn't much feedback regarding them ,
Any there are seem to give mediocre reviews,

From people's experiences, is there anything particularly wrong with their frames?
Or Is it there is better frames to be got for similar money.
Would have expected to hear a lot more about vitus given crc are such a large outfit.
Interested as live in Donegal, so trip to the crc showroom is feasible to see the bikes.

    Any thoughts or opinions welcome.

The Vitus Venon VRS is currently just under €1500.

I've been told it's super responsive, super stiff, accelerates brilliantly and corners like a dream but is very unforgiving ride. One lad swapped the stock alu seatpost and handle bars for carbon and says it's improved the ride no end. Stock wheels are fairly "meh" as well but would be handyto have a winter/training wheels.

    Thanks for that,
Glad to see someone very happy with their vitus,
Will have a closer look at them.

If you're planning on visiting CRC, give them a call a few days in advance, or there may be little or nothing of interest on the showroom floor. I drove up from Dublin without doing this....you can guess the rest!

Tempted by Vitus myself so thought I'd give this a bump.

Can't really find any reviews online so if anyone has any links to reviews or any opinions on vitus feel free to share. I'm sure the OP would be as grateful as myself!

Reviews definitely scarce.. Not intending to upgrade until later in the summer so might give crc a visit to get a feel for the bikes.

I bought the Vitus dark plasma 2013, got it last October and i reckon it's superb value and good quality, supposedly sportive geometry but I have raced it all year and it's it fine

New vitesse evo bikes due to launch at end of July. These are the ones currently being riden by AnPost Chainreaction.

I bought a second hand "Sean kelly team edition" frameset last year to build up and sell on with components I had ..
The frame was a year old and had been used but had wore really well..
They are quiet basic ...simple lines...
The frameset was light...fork and frame around 1300g if I remember correctly..
But it was well made , built up well and on the test run seemed stiff as a poker to me..
If the price was right I'd say they would be worth a punt
But there are sleeker bikes out there for the " book" price they ask..
    Much sleeker...
    Deprecation seems high too
