The Sims 3 - Double Patch Installation problem

    This has happened to me on 3 occasions whenever I've reinstalled the game.

    When I download and install The Sims 3 from my Origin, it'll ask me to download the latest patch update. I oblige, naturally. The patch finishes installing and I try to log into my Origin account via the Sims 3 Launcher.

    Doesn't let me log in.

    So I close the Launcher and reopen it and it asks me to install the patch again........I was asked to install a patch I already installed.

    This happened to me a few months ago, and before that, about a year ago. Why does it ask me to reinstall the patch twice? Kind of irritating.
