Hi, does anyone know where I could locate some of this foundation - preferably in Ireland as I need it fairly quickly.

I know http://www.beesupplies.ie in Sandyford were running out of foundation for a while there but the stuff he did have left was commercial... I don't know if he had unwired.

If you need it unwired , you could always buy wired & take the wire out, cut the wire , 12v through it & it pulls straight out

Thanks for the suggestions, I did find unwired foundation but it was costing more than wired. I went with wired in the end as cost was my primary reason for unwired.

If cost is your main reason, did you look at using starter strips?

What size is commercial foundation, langstroth foundation might work well if you trim sides

I didn't look at that. I only found out recently that it could be done like that.
commercial foundation is 14 x 10 inches afaik.
Wired wasn't all that expensive in the end and probably ended up being handier than having to wire frames.

Got my first bees yesterday - two nice :D
