Pardon my ignorance, but is the race they are discussing in India?

EDIT: Just checked RP site... 2010 Eclipse Stakes in India

it is in india alright, the problems with the phonecall is proving is it really them ( it IS them though) and then for legal reasons they have to prove where the phone calls took place also. Now its in the public domain they will have to be seen to do something
The worst thing is they are admitting gambling which to be honest 90% of jockeys have a bet. Lots of bookmakers lining up to take bets of them as it like buying info

Remember all that crying he did in the press about his 8 month ban after a questionable ride in India? That all rings very hollow now. For me, there's no smoke without fire, and where Dwyer is concerned, there has been a lot of question marks.

    Did the filly win?

Meh! This sort of thing goes on daily. Don't see what all the fuss is about. Clearly icebreaker was far the best horse in the race, no suggestion the race was fixed.

Can't post the video of the race because I don't have enough posts, but can be found on youtube: "THE ECLIPSE STAKES OF INDIA MUMBAI 2010"

Mulrennan is on the one held up second last early on

Dywer thinks he is in a mafia or something. Basically, reading between the lines, he is telling him to don't bother even trying on his horse. Mullrennan sounds like a right sheepdog on it. Dywer's a horrible yoke

I don't think you can say he was telling him not to try.
In any case, looking at the race, Mulrennan's ride looked perfectly acceptable to me.

The gambling stuff will/should get them in trouble, but race-fixing is a real stretch based on this alone.

The real question is what happens if he's wrong and he's on the best horse. Does he give it his all?

I doubt that counts as proof but if it was proven they should both get massive bans and fines. Any sniff of gambling around any jockey should be stamped out quickly

I think they were already banned in India.

Paul Mulrennan just rode a winner at Hamilton.

    He's back in the big-time again ;)

I never had any time for Martin Dwyer. Too much of the "cheeky chappie" about him. Reminds me of Eddie Ahern, and we all know what happened to him.
