Hello! I am studying abroad at NUIG in Spring 2015 only from the US. I have the accommodation options of either Corrib Village or Gort na coiribe. I hear mixed reviews about each one. I want to know which one is nicer (newer, cleaner, etc) and which one you'd recommend. It is my third year of study.

I have heard that Corrib Village is very loud and partyish as a negative, but as a positive people are very social and it is easy to make friends. That being said, I am not a major drinker or partier and would be more appreciative of a mostly quiet place that has more casual and less crazy parties. I also wonder if anyone knows where most study abroad people choose to live.

Any reviews of either place and suggestions on which I should pick would be extremely helpful. Thanks!

When I was in NUI a couple of years ago my friends lived in Gort and had a load of american exchange students live with them (who were lovely) so Im gonna plump for Gort na Coiribe. Quality wise I'd say they are better, slightly more "homely". Gort can have its craziness too but it doesn't have the bad rep like Corrib Village does. Plus you'll find it hard to find people in any year above first year in corrib village
