My Sony Vaio needs Micro Soft re installed and possibly a new hard drive, it#s maybe 8 yrs old, the sound is gone on it too so not much point paying the 80 euro to fix it.
I like mini type laptops as I bike into college with it every day. I really only need something to write essays on. I don't need anything to fancy.
The little shop I just went to and asked about repairing my laptop had a small samsung mini laptop, he'd give me 25 for mine and sell me the little laptop for 100. It had Office 2007, he said the laptop was 4 yrs old maybe.
Any advice or suggested places or laptops worth looking at? I'm in Dublin. Could I get a simply laptop for 100 euro? I don't mind buying an Office licence for 1 year for whatever I buy, I like having the most up to date. I'd like something with decent battery life but doesn't have to be amazing though.

The only thing that I would keep an eye out for is people selling laptops with Windows XP installed, XP is no longer supported and shouldnt really be used on the internet anymore. Aside from that, I've seen some pretty decent laptops for sale on Adverts.ie and Done Deal.

On buying an Office license, dont bother. Use a free alternative such as LibreOffice or Openoffice, or even use Google Docs, which is a good online free alternative to Office. There is absolutely no point in shelling out money for Office anymore, in my view.
