Thought the last film ended the series on a good note. Still Rambo was far better than it had any right to be, so perhaps this one will be decent.

There have been rumours of another film for several years now.

Lol they are turning Rambo into a violent A-Team hybrid!

There;s been so many different scripts for part 5 that it seemed as if Stallone wanted to try Rambo in every genre possible. With the upcoming TV series and this it wouldn't surprise me to see the series continue with a big screen reboot. I'd hope that if this goes ahead as planned that Stallone won't make it an out and out action film but rather something more inline with Rambo, a tale of a tired, over the hill soldier who just wants to find peace. The credits sequence in Rambo gave him that and it felt like the natural ending for the character

Whyyyy, the last one ended the character's story perfectly, same as Rocky Balboa.

Does Stallone still have the chops to pull this off ?

He's in better shape than most people half his age.

I just hope Rambo 5 keeps the same tone as Rambo 4 and is not PG13 bullsh1t.

He's in great shape in that photo but it's is a few years old.

He looked very weird in Grudge Match.

Theres no doubt he's in great shape for his age. But will Rambo be a credible character pushing 70 ? I thought the last one was about perfect for hanging up his boots. Any older and dishing out all that punishment wouldn't look right !

Maybe I'm wrong. I hope so tbh.

In the last rambo he looked about 45. Even though he was in his 60s when that was shot he still had the ability to look terrifying and was as mad as hell.

He made every other action hero look like a little girl.

If he keeps in shape I think he could easily pull off another rambo even at 70.

In the next rambo they put him in Iraq and have him wipe out the "bad guys" just like he did in Afghanistan. Rambo could single handedly bring peace to Iraq.

North Korea, semi serious. At least he'd truly have a big bad to up against.

Or a marketplace, that has no care for THE movie.

It's pity in many ways how a lot of actions movies these days are lost after the cold war and are afraid to go up against the 2nd biggest nation of the day, because before their was no way to sell a 007 movie going up aginst the Soviet Union in 1960's Russia. They didn't want it!

At least Burma/Vietnam was an inspired, relevant location for Rambo IV, I have to admire for that rather than dragging up USA Vs Russia even though the cold war has been over for 20 years (not withstanding Ukraine.

    Although far more intriguing:

China is the elephant in the room. They are the biggest military and political rival of the 21st century yet no one wants to admit it. China doesn’t want us to talk about it even in a movie because they want us to continue to buy their goods. I'm not expecting cutting edge commentary froma Rambo movie (tbh I don't want it either), but it'd be more provocative daring than most, if movies went in that direction.

    Look here:

    http://screenrant.com/red-dawn-villains-china-north-korea-schrad-106177/
Red Dawn will likely hit theaters at some point this year, but the film (which wrapped production in 2009) has one more significant alteration to undergo before it will be ready to hit theaters. The original 1984 film featured a group of small-town teenagers in America’s heartland taking a stand against Soviet invaders – but with the disintegration of the U.S.S.R. in 1991, producers initially decided that Chinese assailants would be more appropriate for the remake.

According to the LA Times, the filmmakers have decided to change the villains yet again. Instead of the Chinese, North Korean soldiers will now invade the U.S. in the Red Dawn remake. The switch was made in an effort to give the film greater box office appeal in China – which has become one of the most profitable markets for American movies.

Around the time MGM first delayed the release of Red Dawn, a Chinese newspaper called the Global Times expressed concerns that the film would demonize their state and its citizens (thanks in part to certain leaked images from the set). Evidently, this may have been a factor in scaring off potential distributors who were apprehensive about what effect their involvement with the film would have on future dealings with China.

So without any official complaints from the Chinese government, MGM will spend $1 million to construct a new opening sequence, re-edit several scenes, and digitally change Chinese symbols into Korean. It may sound somewhat ridiculous, but the fact of the matter is that the studio really had no alternative. If the film fails to secure distribution, it could wind up going straight to video – or being permanently shelved.

I hope he gets to settle down with a nice lady who doesnt get killed, the man deserves a decent peaceful retirement

theres an Apollo Creed movie being developed at the moment, Stallone will more than likely be backing it but hes not the writer

So everyone that Mr. Rambo fights is made of jelly...

Avi Lerner is the producer so it will be PG13 I'm afraid. He wanted the last Rambo to be the same but didn't get his way. Lerner is also the reason that The Expendables 3 is PG 13.

Personally the only reason I went to see the last one, and still love it, is because of the OTT violence.

Does Avi Lerner only make PG13 movies ?

Thought the last film ended the series on a good note.

    This.

I thought it was the perfect way to end the arc. Another one will ruin that more then likely.

Also, Rambo taking on a drug cartel? Its completely lost the point.
