If the unit was purchased in the UK it more than likely has only MPEG2 decoding capability, which is what is used in the UK for their Digital TV broadcasts (Freeview)
Saorview uses later MPEG4 technology. Without MPEG4 the unit will not receive Saorview broadcasts.

To get the full benefit of Saorview a tv should also have MHEG5 decoding technology to display its text services and full program info.

However if the unit is only MPEG2 all is not lost as it can still be used if the signal source is a satellite decoder, it can be connected via the analogue RF out or the scart or av outputs from the box.
Or via one of these to get Saorview

    Many thanks for the info.

Yes it is a UK supplied system and I had planned on calling to DID this afternoon to see if they could advise.

    All questions answered.

    regards
