Vent behind dishwasher ?

I have noticed there is a musty type smell from behind the dishwasher..when its on. The washer is sitting on a tiled floor which only gives about one inch of space under the work top. The d/ washer is also tight between the presses on either side.
Should there be a wall vent directly behind the d/ washer under the work top.

    Thanks.

A vent is not needed afaik. It might be worth checking for dampness, a leak or even stagnant water in the waste pipe, the hose from the machine or even inside the machine itself. You could try flushing the machine by cleaning out the machine's filters and running an empty wash or two with detergent (longest cycle and highest temp) to see if that helps.
