    Evening.

Weirs aside, where else can i buy Tag Heuer watches in Dublin?

Also, has anyone ever ordered direct from their website?

I imagine that their website doesn't give much discount, maybe have a look at the model you want on iconicwatches.com and see what discount to they are offering as a guide to what to ask for in Weirs.

Here is a thread about someone looking to buy one a couple of years ago

Well that is the question! I'm open minded.
    Carrera my favourite I think.

There is a couple of nice ones on adverts.

Unless you want it brand new then buying second is a good option. For the price of a new tag car (guessing around 2-5 k, which instantly loses 30-50% of value in first year) you could pick up two second hand tags which will maintain close to the price you paid for them for a couple of years.

Not a huge fan of tags personally. Like the link calibre 6. The current one is ok but the previous one is the nicest imo.

How confident would you guys be buying a second hand watch?
Its actually i thought that had not crossed my mind.

    Fairly confident.

Remember to buy the seller aswell as the watch. Look at the seller profile for example on adverts. Do they have good feedback and have sold a few high end watches etc.

Do they have all boxes, links and paperwork.

Given you are in Dublin you also have a wealth of shops you can bring the seller and watch to before you part with money to have it checked over. I wouldn't trust the shop entirely. Educate yourself on the model you are buying, is it a common fake, what mistakes are common on fakes etc.

Nice watches, quite a difference between them in size and style. A friend of mine has the latter and is very nice. Have you tried either of these on? That is the first thing. I haven't pitched from these guys, but do a little searching, I'm pretty sure I've heard people report good things.
Main thing is to get the watches that you really want, I think you need to try it on to know this

I'd be fairly confident ordering from the website, seen some good review about them online. Helps that i can order it to a UK address too. No hassle there.

Might try get up to Weirs, Fields and Paul Sheeran etc over the next day or two and hopefully they'll have them in stock so i can get a feel.

    Two really different watches :)
Leaning towards the first one, it just screams BOOM mutha fúcka haha but the second one is just pure class and sophistication isnt it. Decisions!!

This one is a beaut too:

8 years. The only issue is it might need a service. If has prrof of one well andgood. If not then I wouldnt pay over 1000.

Tags don't hold their value very well so if buying new and your happy with that well and good.

I didnt really see anything 2nd hand online that stood out.
It'll be a once off purchase, buying it with my wedding in mind next year.

Why do i have a feeling that if i buy one, i'll want another though :)

I had a Link Calibre 6 for sale on adverts a while back but was getting too many silly offers so I just pulled it...

Its one of the nicer ones and a very decent dress watch

Surprised you didnt see any in your local Fields store..

The Calibre S is a lovely watch. Just be mindful that the hybrid movement in these is a Tag in-house movement, so if it needed servicing or repair it would most likely have to go back to Tag, and could be expensive as a result.
Also the price is a bit high. There was one in the window of a pawn shop on Talbot St for €1600 recently.

How are Tag regarding servicing? Any one had any issues?

I have a tag heuer carrera calibre 6 for 2 years now and I think its awesome. The rotor in the back got stuck and stopped spinning last month so I brought it back to Tag and as it was within the 2 years, they serviced and fixed it for free. Bare in mind that a service on these watches can be quite expensive.

In that case ignore me and buy new! Be careful and make sure you buy the one you want regardless of price as you won't be able to sell it due to sentimental reasons lol!

are either of them close to iconics price?

Iconic are totally trustworthy so dont hesitate to buy from them if they are the best value.

you would want to be getting a 25% discount on any Tag bar a Monaco to be honest.

Picked up my first ever Tag watch yesterday evening :D
It arrived weighing about 160 grams, healthy and screaming.
Daddy is doing fine, if not a little poorer, yet richer for the experience.
I called it Tag Heuer Carrera Tachymetre Calibre S
I'll love it forever and ever.

(It also came in cheaper than advertised on iconicwathes)

    What kind of silly offers?

I was sale almost agreed for a six year old one two months back on adverts when the seller withdrew it. I am after a nice dress watch. Really want an Omega AT though.
