Wiring a fair faced wall. ?

:rolleyes: Fellas, saw a nice house in last Sundays 'Times.' It had a fair faced wall with sockets but no unsightly chased channels or pipework.
Its obviously wired from within the blocks. Is this something easily done and how ?
I'll be doing some wiring in my next house.

Hey recipio.
I had some fitted on the outside of my gaff with no problems .
They would have been opposite an internal socket or thereabouts, so had a good bit of scope as to where i wanted them fitted outside.
The waterproof socket is quite big when fitted, minor drawback to get the external power points.

I should explain these are fair faced internal blocks. Some people ( me included ) like the industrial look, some hate it.
Instead of chasing down the outside of the wall in the normal way I think they must use a meter long drill bit and drop the wiring through the blocks from the top of the wall or from below when the wall is being built ?
The electricians must love it !

Crikey, sounds like fun for a sparks alright.
Although agreed, well laid and pointed blockwork does look smart.
My Bbq area is this way..ish, OH is putting pressure on me to paint it.
Im thinking of the painting down the line, dread it, only painting i like is on a piece of canvas:)
