Has anyone any experience buying wine directly from Italy?

Is there any website you could recommend?

    Thanks

People ask this kind of thing all the time.

If you buy alcohol in an EU country and accompany it back to Ireland for personal use, there is no problem. Eg. car ferry from France.

If you buy alcohol on line, to be shipped to you, it is liable for duty and VAT. This should be organised with Irish revenue by the company exporting the goods. In reality, most companies just send the goods without these liabilities charged. In that situation, you can be liable for these charges and possibly penalties on delivery. On the other hand, the goods could arrive no problem with no additional duties levied.

If you intend to import alcohol to sell on, you need a licence to do so.
