Is that not just screen mirroring, which should be available on any Samsung TV that is allshare compatible

    mirroring what??

your screen, not every conceivable channel on earth, including paid for Sky Movies and Sports without a Sky sub??

    OP, you are misinformed.

But, there are streaming interesting apps available, like All Cast or Bubble UPnP, and other stuff like Plex or XBMC.....

and there are many TV's you can use, not just Samsung...

and they don't have to be Smart, just equipped with a Streaming add-on, like a Chromecast dongle, or a Roku Box, or the many varieties of Android TV Sticks and Boxes available.

They don't even need to have a HDMI port for certain Roku boxes.

You need to read up a little, even the stuff I mentioned.

OK, I have tried it some time ago, and found most streams I tried were not there, espwcially those popular sport streams, probably me.

The lack of an option to cast, either to CC, roku or smart tv is a problem too.

I honestly find other unmentionable apps to be better for shows and movies ;)

it's not bad considering it's free.

OP - the app is just an app, the screen mirroring is what you want too.

doesn't have to be a smart tv. a number of devices can pick it up. blu ray dvd player is a decent option. far cheaper than a new tv
