Most people who want to work and are eligible have jobs, therefore I wouldn't say you are lucky.

I'm lucky not to have dependants where I am now. I'm lucky I'm not in serious debt. I see nobody mentioned karma so far. Did a good turn by you ever pay dividends?

I'm lucky to have a job I love and to be in a fairly good financial position so I don't need to worry about living from day to day.

I'm unlucky with women in almost every way.

I'm lucky enough to have some beer and biscuits. That's the next three hours sorted. Don't tend to look too far beyond those, so now's all good.

I was unlucky enough to get a One Night Stand pregnant, at the first go too.

But Luckily, I'd given a false name.

I'm lucky the recession came when it did. if it hadn't I'd still be working on sites carrying blocks in all sorts of weather, and probably partaking in the drinking culture that accompanied construction work at the time. I'd be fu**ed by 40 years of age and not able to work anymore.

As it stands I'm a mature student, living on next to nothing, but I don't really mind that as it'll be worth it in the long run.

Yes I'm lucky in most areas of my life with the way things have panned out.

I'm unlucky with the company I work that there are so few opportunities for advancement or development.

I'm unlucky because goddammed Algeria are kicking South Korea around the pitch leaving me exposed.

In the bigger scheme of things I'm actually having a pretty lucky week :)

    But seriously, **** Algeria.

You were taken in by groupthink. Just because people in Ireland in general know very little about the football teams from Algeria and Costa Rica amongst others they tend to dismiss their chances without doing any proper research.

I don't believe in luck. I think if you follow a certain path in life and fortune goes against you, then you're on the wrong the path.

Well thank goodness I'm not the only one who thinks this way

In fairness, there wasn't very much thinking on my part going on at all, I'm generally picking teams by how much I like the colour of their shirts. As good as any other system :)

It has been proven that teams in English football who wear red have a better than expected success rate.

Well that obviously means I will put all of my money on Portugal, they have a rather dashing deep-red shirt on today. I can already smell my winnings, sweet jesus!

    Go science!
