Queue Jumpers

It's something many of us encounter everyday. We wait patiently in a long(ish) queue of traffic, and some clown(s) decide(s) to boot their way up the line of traffic and cut in. Some bully their way in, while someone in the jam foolishly lets them in, thus, further delaying those behind. I certainly don't let them in.

One thing I've noticed is that a queue jumper rarely gets far ahead, and end up getting passed by those further back in the queue, while the queue jumper ends up stuck at a light or in another jam. I really don't see the point of it. It's ignorant, small-minded, and just generally pointless, especially when they don't get far, as pointed out above.

Unfortunately, there is nothing that can be done. It's not breaking any laws, and even if it was, there would be nobody there to stop them or to enforce the law. It's just a gripe of mine, and something that continuously annoys me on my daily commute to and from work.

It would be classed as driving without due care.

There are so many fools out there driving its unreal.

Best of not let it get to you as they will end up in a ditch or crashing into someone.

Hopefully they do it on a like minded as them individual and get creamed out of it :-D

Seriously, is this what this forum has come down to? In the last week there has been denouncements against cyclists, jaywalkers and now queue jumpers. It's a good thing we're all much more considerate to each other on the road than we are in this little corner of cyberspace.

When the "queue" is a bunch of cars sitting in an active bus lane, I certainly "jump" it. Of course, not all are like that.

Most queue jumping I see is people merging far too early. The zipper merge is much more efficient use of road space and should be encouraged instead of under utilising the road.

will always drive as far as I can in my lane before merging unless the road markings say otherwise. It's the people (for instance) who try to merge with the straight on lane from the right turn lane that is being moaned about here

Ah my misunderstanding then, I've seen many instances of failure to fully use merge areas.
