Bit of a novel tie in the qualifiers on the box this afternoon.

After their respective performances versus Dublin and Antrim, Laois are favourites here.

I think it will be interesting to see how good Laois are - especially as regards giving further insight into the Dubs.

Also I wonder what sort of crowd turn up?

RTE probably made that call so that it wouldn't clash with the WC coverage starting at 5pm.

You also have Sligo v Galway on Sky at 7 so that slot is out too.

You'd like to think plenty of Laois people would turn up given their encouraging performance against Dublin. This is the easy side of the draw and Laois could well end up in the fourth round at least. Now is the time to get on the bandwagon.

Fair play to RTE for showing the game live.Looks like the Sky Sports deal is forcing them to up their game as they don't normally screen 1st round Qualifers

7 wides for Laois - look a long way off their first-half performance against the Dubs.

    3 points to 2 up.

Jeez nearly a Fermanagh own goal there.

Lots of mistakes and some poor Laois shooting not making it a great spectacle.

Goal from Fermanagh to take the lead 1-6 to 6

Horrible mess in the Laois box from a long ball in. Not sure who got the relevant touch as it seems to go off 2/3 players.

There is always 1 qualifier included in the rights. The rights aren't optional, the GAA decide how many games and what games and the broadcasters pick amongst the available ones.

    1-6 to 0-9 at HT

Fermanagh will be far happier in the dressing room, but you'd still think Laois would have enough even if they are playing against the wind in the 2nd half.

Laois's build up play has been decent but their finishing has been atrocious and they are making more of a game off it than they should be. Laois look at least 10 points a better team than Fermanagh but Laois's wastefulness has given Fermanagh a bit of hope and as a result Fermanaghs performance has got better as the half went on.

You could nearly see the belief increasing amongst the Fermanagh lads with every wide by Laois.

Worth pointing out that the only Round 1 Qualifier included in the rights was for today. None of next week's will be shown. This was determined some time ago - certainly before the draw was made.

I believe it also means no hurling qualifier round 1 will be shown? The rights are for 1 qualifier overall between both codes. Could be wrong on this though

Big toe-poke effort from Billy Sheehan for the goal.

I think that after the Dublin game Laois felt all they had to do today was turn-up.

Nothing as good as seeing someone getting creeled with a shoulder.

Laois are making hard work of this, not playing anywhere near as well as they did against Dublin.

the lad Kingston is a fair good player. laois would be lost without him today

    Extra-time if it finishes level.

Laois just not managing to shake Fermanagh loose.

plenty of scores, but laois they are no good.

Laois fairly limped over the line there.

Why didn't the Fermanagh player go for goal on that last attack. There was even a player inside him he could have passed the ball to.

Overall I quite enjoyed the match, both teams played some good attacking football and I thought Sean Quigley was exceptional for Fermanagh 2-8 and he kicked some 5 lovely scores from frees and his all round play was excellent as well. Laois finishing needs to improve.2 matches in a row they have missed way too many chances.

What game were you watching. Laois were very lucky to be 1 point up at the end. Fermanagh forwards must have presumed they had more time at the end as they had 3 decent chances of going for a goal but decided to go for the point.

I made that post at half time during the match.Laois were all over Fermanagh for most of the first half of the match but kicked a lot of very bad wides. So based on how the match was going at the time I made that comment Laois looked a good bit better than Fermanagh.
