Hi my daughter visiting this August with her mother from Boston.

Mom leaving a week later and my daughter wants to stay another 2 weeks

She is 11 in January and well able to go ;)

Has anybody heard of chaperones or flights that would take a unaccompanied child from
    Shannon to Boston?

    Thanks!

British Airways does but Aer Lingus does not. I hope you have not booked anything with Aer Lingus
    Unaccompanied Minors
Aer Lingus does not accept reservations for unaccompanied children under 12 years of age for travel on Aer Lingus scheduled services.

Children under 12 years of age cannot travel unless accompanied by an adult aged 16 years or older, who will take responsibility for the child.

BA fly into Dublin so it would be Dublin to LHR to BOS. Amercian Airlines does but has to be a direct flight so trasfers in JFK would not be an option im affraid. United have the same policy that it has to be a direct flight. Id call British Airways if I was you and clarify the situation. Their number is 1 890 626 747 By reading their site it looks like so long as your child does not have to switch airport then they will take care of her. So no transfers between Heathrow and Gatwick.

Would the person collecting her at the other end drive down to Newark or JFK? As united will take her if you were to book her direct from SNN to Newark for a fee of $150 each way on top of the ticket. http://www.united.com/web/en-US/content/travel/specialneeds/minors/default.aspx
Its about 4 hours down to the New York area driving from Boston be less messing around if you did that.
