C an I just pass something on to you what was said to me today in the university hospital Galway. Having waited 3 years for an appointment for the pain management I finally got one for today Friday 13th June, I was informed that I needed epidural for back pain and further injections to my knees and shoulders (osteoarthritis) at last I thought thinking I would be called for appointment shortly, alas no, I was informed that I would have to wait a further 9-12 months...Ya, I couldn't believe it either. I ask the girl on reception was it because I was a public patient, having given her answer some thought she said "yes" and would I complain because it would help them let authorities know of our (me) plight in long waiting times. She told me that the HSE have a policy to not let people wait more than 9months for a "procedure" but this does not apply to the first consultation and she gave me a phone number in order to complain. So it looks like I won't get treatment until 2015 even though I was referred in 2011
