Just curious here......when Aer Lingus use an A330 for the Malaga and Faro flights, who if anyone, gets to sit in the business-class seats?

It occurred to me that it would be a nice little perk if you were on one of these flights, to travel out or back from your hols. in business class :-)

You can pay an extra €70 to book a business class seat.

There's an extra charge to use the big seats.
I paid I think about €30 one way back in 2008 when the A330 flights to Malaga had just started.
Not sure what current charge is.
Got the same food / service etc. as everyone else on the flight btw, but it was nice to get a taste of the high life.

Its included if you fly fully flex which some times is cheaper than the €70 seat charge and you get entry to the lounge then.

Can also upgrade to the seats using 750 gold circle points. Service is economy though so all you get is the seat.

Does the in-flight entertainment work in economy and business?

    No...its an ornament.

This has been covered many times on this forum.

Over the last 2 years the question of whether or not EI had IFE on their A330's has been asked and answered approx 3-4 times. And I would expect similar in the 2 years before that. So while 3-4 times does not equate 'many', it has been brought up.

I believe the last non-PTV A330 was retired in 2010.

A quick Boards search revealed these 2 straight away. It's been done many times over. If the A330 is on the Malaga or Faro routes the inflight entertainment system will be operating.

With respect Sir, the in flight entertainment system "should" be operating. Like all PES's they can be pesky buggers irrespective of resets. :)
