I have footjoy AQL's which are great for the winter but too heavy and firm for the summer... getting shin splints lately so its time for a lighter more comfortable pair

Anyone recommend a decent light pair that wont break the bank?

you have my sympathy man, Shin Splints can be very painfull,
however the Aql's are one of the lightest shoes on the market, that offer the other bells and whistles, but I think the newer Nike Fi Impact, light weight mesh design, waterproof and comfy, great when the conditions are firm underfoot. Get them for a little over a ton.

if you walk a lot in your job or daily life or run for exercise, check your street and training shoes too.

I needed a new pair of summer golf shoes after the echo pair I had were a bit tried . I won them so went on the look for a replacement pair . But at €250 I couldn't justify it but there really were excellent . I needed up buying a pair of Skechers GoGolf shoes and IMO they are better than the echos. Super comfy and easy on the foot . And good grip too. It's one of those things I won't skimp on as I've had a few bad pair of shoes and blisters and calluses are not fun . I got them when master was on and mc guirks had a 20% off sale . Got them reduced from 95 to 76 Euro . Best money I've spent of golf shoes in recent years And I go through a lot of shoes

Sketchers make the most comfortable shoes ever. I've had a few pairs over the past 15 years and always very comfortable. In fact I'm wearing a pair now.
I was told by someone in the business that they use a custom made Last to most manufacturers which leads to a very comfortable fit.

I like the Ecco Street shoes myself - partly because they are light and comfortable on the course - partly because they are a nice casual shoe off the course.

What's the sizing like on them Greebo? My AQL's are a full size smaller than I normally wear in a runner.

    I got a 9 and I'd say if anything is a little bigger sizing, I'm usually a 9.5.
Pretty darn comfy and very light.
Also, they have kept me dry trudging through long wet rough, they have a repellant finish, but I would be calling them waterproof ( might be a disservice, but I normally use ecco so I have high waterproof standards!)

I got them about 6 weeks ago, couldn't fault them in any way. Very comfortable, light, waterproof & they look good as well! They can be worn year round IMO...I bought the, in mcguirks when they had one of their 15% off everything sales.

This thread made me remember a pair of Dunlop summer shoes I got from sports direct a few years back for £6, totally forgot about them, dug them out and played a round in them yesterday evening, they were grand, not a loss on them and spiffing value at the price, happy days
