    Hi,

Wife considering a new job in citywest, what's the commute like from the M9? (a couple of miles off the M9 Athy exit 3) job would probably be 9-5.30 with some flexibility. What's it like getting out of citywest in the evening and is the 3 into 2 lanes at naas a problem, I have seen some major tailbacks north of Naas on a Friday evening is that a regular thing ?

    thanks.

i'd say that's a fairly handy commute. Coming to Citywest is generally plain sailing. Might take about 20-25 mins or so. Going back home in the evening always takes longer, particularly if there's an accident on the N7. Winter always seems slower than summer too. Generally it gets busy at Johnstown and the naas ball area. Overall, it's not a bad commute. I'm doing a much longer version of it most days coming on to the M9 at junction 6 Leighlinbridge.

I leave Athy at 7am and get to the City West Junction at 7:35am
crashes usually create the slowdown between junction 10 and junction 9 Naas.
going home, 35 min would be the time, apart from Fridays and when crashes occur around Kill, and these can add anything from 10 min to 30 min.

thanks for the info lads, I can do the journey in about 35 minutes off peak, but I've never done it at rush hour, i.e. leaving at about 8 am in the morning and 5.30 in the evening, I have seen some serious tailbacks on the N7 heading south at naas on a Friday evening, I was going in the other direction.
