Can I please ask if someone who knows Molls Gap can compare the climb from Killarney side to the climb from kenmare? I've managed Killarney but just worried about how the kenmare side for ROK! Anyone got some encouraging words?

You should be ok. Not overly steep. I think its around 5 km long. Don't burn yourself out before it or you will pay on the climb.

The gradient is much more consistent. Not too steep but long.

Does that mean there is no rest spots?? At least with the rise then flat then rise on Killarney side there was a chance to get breathe back... Have to say I'm a bit scared of it!!

And how does coomakista compare to it?

    Nothing to worry about.

Killarney side is far tougher you'll be grand.

Did both sides recently. Killarney side is harder. Pace yourself and get a good rhythm going and you'll be grand

You will be ok, there are a few little roads to the left and right as you climb molls gap if you really need to stop for a rest so don't worry. As the others have said, it is not overly steep but it runs for quite awhile.

Here is a video of last years climb to the top of molls gap just to give you an idea:

coomakista isn't a bad climb at all, one of those ones where you know you are climbing, but can hold a good pace it would't be as tough as molls from the killarney side

neither, for that matter is molls from the kenmare side.

i think what happens is everyone gets so worred by molls their heart rate is through the roof before they even start the climb, meaning they redline as soon as they hit it.

Moll's isn't a hard climb, relax coming into it, get your rhythm and cadence right and you;ll fly up it. Same for coomakista. i actually prefer the coomakista climb, more fun
