Honda Accord Type-S or Audi A4 S-Line

Without a doubt in my opinion the Accord. That is the Type S 180bhp with a noticeable difference in power over the 140bhp A4. Type S 180bhp Accord is way better equipped too with almost every conceivable extra you could want. Accord less likely to give you trouble too though the I-DTEC engine would not be as frugal as the VAG CR unit.

Thanks bazz. Yeah, I'm swayed towards it at the moment. In the whole of the UK autotrader, there only appears to be five for sale too so it'll be a lot more exclusive than an Audi.

I'm also concerned about the impact of the release of the new model A4 next year on used car values when it comes to resale time - although I do expect this to be pretty small initially.

Plus the Accord is quite a lot less common and you won't be tagged as a boy racer and/or drug dealer :pac::pac:

Accord every day of the week for me.

The Accord Type-S 180bhp is rare enough and they cost big money over here when new. Definitely a less common sight on the road over the A4. Would you also consider a Passat CC? Have one myself and in top GT spec they are really a nice place to sit. Plenty of them for sale in the UK but still rarely uncommon over here. Imo I'd consider the CC over an A4 as an alternative to the Accord.

    Thanks for the input everyone.

I had considered a Passat CC too. They're a very nice car. If I'd found one on Autotrader at the right money locally, I'd have definately considered it.

However, whilst the Accord Type-S was available locally and the Passat CC's that I was looking at involved a trip to England that would 'possibly' reveal a faulty car and money down the drain, I decided to go for the Accord Type-S.

Had someone look at it today and the deposit is down. It was due a service which the dealer is carrying out now. I'll be picking it up next week. :D

Good luck with your choice, it was a no brainer in the end.
