Sucklers or milkers? If they hadn't been served already I'd say serve them. Clear slime is a good indicator.

If the seat's wet, sit on yer hat, a cool head is better than a wet ar5e.

I saw a cow with a clear slime out of her at 7 o clock this evening. She showed no other signs of heat, would it be to late to Ai her in the morning?

Well if she was in heat it's not too late and as its the only indicator you have i'd chance it at this stage. Sods law says she will then be in standing heat about 8-12 hours later though

You really need some kind of bull in there with them, or a bullock at least, to see mounting activity. To me clear sign is a definite sign that standing heat is about to happen soon, as in the next few hours.

Stuck a straw in her earlier, wait and see now.

If you could put a couple of bullocks with the cows i think it's a great job for picking up heats.

I checked my cow from above, she didn't hold that day but did three weeks later.

My vet told me a long number of years ago that clear slime coming from a cow does not necessarily mean she is on heat.
He is a vet with years of experience, so I have no reason to doubt him.

If the cows are not standing to be mounted, or mounting other cows, why not wait for 10 days after the cows are sliming and inject them with Estrumate or similar hormone injection.
If you inject them with Estrumate and if the cows are cycling then they will come on heat.
