Hi, I have a problem with ivy on rented ground. It's on the ground and up the walls of an old farmyard. There is no concrete on the ground, only soil and wondering how to get rid of it. I heard ROUND UP BIACTIVE will kill it. Is this true? All help appreciated, thanks

For walls and buildings, just cut it at the base. It will die away then. Easier than spraying, I think. Use a bar to pull it back a little and then cut with a hand-saw. Easy and quick.

I allways get out and do it around a few of the big trees ect around the farm a few times during the year. You would be suprised how much waight it puts onto a tree in hevey wind, and I suppose it steangles the trees to.

When cutting it cut out an inch piece, so it doesn't bridge the gap

Had a lot of ivy on old stone garden wall here, cut the top back with hedge trimmer and sprayed with roundup at 50/50 rate , did the job perfectly.. Probably didn't need such a strong rate but wanted to make sure I wouldn't have to come back a second time.
Round here anyway when I cut the ivy off trees it will start to re grow so I always have some Roundup with me when I cut and just paint the stumps with it raw , end of ivy for good...
Nearly forgot to add, Roundup sprayed directly on ivy won't work, it needs to be cut to allow the spray work..
