migration software

    Hi guys i recently brought a new laptop i was running vista on my old laptop. I want to migrate all my files and programs to my new laptop. what is the best and simpliest way to do this. i do not have an external hard drive to store everything on i would like to just connect the two pcs if that is possible. please advise. thanks in advance for any suggestions.

    Programs etc. will need to be installed on the new laptop from scratch. As regards files, get the new laptop up and running and you could transfer files over your home network to the new laptop, or if you dont have one, a crossover cable will connect the two computers for file transfer. Newer network cables may also work instead of a crossover cable, havent done this in years
