Car insurance (no claims)

I sold my car in July 2013. I had full no claims for 30 years . I want to get insurance again now. I inadvertently shredded all my previous car docs in July last as I hadn't intended to insure a car again. I have checked with a number of insurance companies I thought it might have been , but I can't find my last insurer up till July last ..... Is there any way I can around this. I need my clean previous record in order to get insurance again

Check your emails, maybe you got some correspondance from them? Other than that youll have to get out the phonebook I reckon; not too many insurers in Ireland! Did you go through a broker perhaps?

Check your bank account or credit card statements for details of your last premium payment and follow that trail.

Normally you can contact your old insurance company and provide them with your details. They can send you a letter which states that you were claim free with them and it should show all the years claim free as well.

Normally it's best to read the Op's question first....;)

I thought he meant the papers, not the company he was with.....

Probably thought he had won the Euromillions and could afford to self-indemnify but when he sobered up a week later he realised that it was just a dream. :D
