Read it last night and have to admit I'm wondering if it was largely adapted from the edited out parts of the original Princess and the Queen manuscript. While ostensibly a Maester's history of Daemon Targaryen, it covers the build up to the Dance of Dragons, nicely quoting multiple sources including other Maester's works and a history of the court written by a Princess's fool.
