Sanitaryware; price differences between toilets

I can't figure out why toilets are such different prices, is it just design/style that is the difference.

For example, sonas bathrooms has the 'president' toilet which is €99 plus its low volume flush 4/2.6l, the next model up is more rounded in design but its €199 (6/4l) and a fully shrouded model is €249.

    any advice?

Its like all things economic.Economies of scale combined with the cost of wages, materials, design, manufacture, taxes etc on the manufacturers end. Then the cost of importing/exporting, transporting, storing and selling on the middleman and add to that that most consumers are going to go for the most basic model then 'fancy' ware becomes expensive

They are all imported from either Turkey or the far east , so there is no differance other than mark up.
All Sonas sanitaryware is from the far east & there is no differance in the quality of the basic to the best other than Ushers mark up on it.

Could it be a harder design to make. Or the cheaper one is more mass produced. Where the dearer is only a few units
