VU+Solo 2 - Remote advice

Hi Guys,

Just purchased & set up a VU+Solo2 machine.

Its good so far apart from the remote control.

The problem is that my wife hates the remote - it does not work too well & is not nearly as smooth as the old sky remote....!

Is there any other type of remote that I can use with it?

Yes and the 600

They can control nearly everything. I have the 650 (and 600) and it controls my Western Digital, Sony stereo, Gigablue, LG TV, Onkyo AVR, UPC box

Don't do it mate, if she gets comfortable with the remote kiss goodbye to your TV

I have the same box over a year, find the remote is defo good enough for everyday use(maybe not as sharp as a skybox but not far off).
Do you have a genuine solo 2?
What image are you using?

Yeah I was going to say someone sold me a clone as genuine few months ago and the remote was awful, felt like pressing cardboard. Needless to say the box went back. I have a harmony remote though as it's just handy for keeping everything in sync when you have a lot of equipment

i just got a vu solo 2 must admit its great- i do have some questions as im am a total noob- some of my recordings dont go under recording folder but under timer- i can see them but cannot play them? how do i transfer them over to view- for instance ive been recording blacklist it recorded ep1-4 then put 5 in this folder- also if i can see solo on network what does that mean- can i just transfer files over and back? and is there anything else that i can do with it that wont be too difficult for a simpleton? thanks in advance
