Good calendar app for Android

I'm looking for a good calendar app for Android. I'm currently using Windows Phone 8.1 and I have to admit I love the calendar layout on it. The calendar on Android just doesn't look as good or seem as intuitive.

Any suggestions for alternative calendar apps on Android? I think I'm just using the standard one that comes with Android.

    Thanks.

What device? Lots of manufacturers change the stock Android app for their own.

Is this the one you're using?

    That looks like it.

    I'm using a Moto G phone.

Have to agree that most default Calendars aren't great. I use an app called Sunrise on both my Tablet and phone which syncs my Google account. It also supports iCloud calendar but don't think it supports exchange.

There are tons of calendar apps, and I've tried about a dozen or so over the last few years. Some of them look pretty (Cal) and some of them are super functional but not so pretty (Business Calendar).

The one I keep coming back to is aCalendar. It has the functions I need (like a decent Week View widget) and it looks okay. Not the prettiest, but it has a good balance of form and function. I'd like it to look a bit nicer, but I've yet to find a nicer looking one that does what I want. For example, on the Week View widets, if you click on any of the days it opens the app directly on that day view. I'm almost certain that on the prettier apps, clicking on any day on the week view opens the current day view. It may seem like a small thing, but I like to be able to go directly to any given day from the week widget, not just today.

I just use Simple Calendar Widget, and never bother using the actual calendar app.

Just checked out aCalendar, I really like the layout, very close to what I was after, I think I will stick with it and see how it goes.

    Thanks.

I like that, glaring omission though, no widget

Edit, if that's a paid feature I'll buy

There are widgets (and very useful ones at that) in aCalendar.
