Do prisons take partial payments on penal warrants?

I was reading a thread in AH from a woman who went to Dochas on a penal warrant. Once there €450 was taken from her as partial payment for the penal warrant. Is this standard practice? I would have thought that once the warrant was executed then the fine was no longer in play. And I've never heard of partial payments for fines being accepted.
