I want to tune in the likes of BBC HD and ITV HD. I have seen codes given that are supposed to be put in to get these channels. However I can't seem to work it out.

This is what my menu is like.

What would I input here to get it to work? Thanks for your assistance!

It's obviously NOT a "Freeview" box.

Is it a Generic Free To Air box?

    Make?

If there is no HDMI it's not HD and can't tune HD channels. If there is an HDMI, it may only be an upscaled SD satellite Receiver.

For HD Satellite you need either a "Freesat HD" box / TV or a Generic FTA DVB-S2 HD MPEG4 Satellite receiver.

You can't play LPs on a windup gramophone either.

What do you mean no HDMI? Does it have to be connected with a HDMI to get HD?

Used to have the box on another tv and was able to get HD. Then it was moved elsewhere but can't seem to fine them in now.

if you have your satellite connection in the back you need to go to astra 2 satellite and do a blind search

I did it but no program found. Does the tp index matter when I do the scan or any of the other settings?

Under "Satellite" in the menu did you select Astra at 28.2e and/or Eurobird 28.5e?

Did you do a Single scan or TP scan or Blind scan with these satellites selected?

When you were doing the scan did the Signal Level and Quality bars at the bottom of the menu indicate that a signal was present?

This link gives you the full list of transponders (TP Index) the receiver should be searching for on those satellites - http://www.lyngsat.com/Eutelsat-28A-and-Astra-2A-2E-2F.html

The Blind Scan search function on the receiver should find all transponders, even if any are missing from the list in the receiver, and store them provided you have a good signal from the dish (indicated by near full signal Level and Quality bars).

Yes, you will only get HD over HDMI
