Repair peeling paint - plaster wall

    Hi,

We are trying to redecorate the front room which was wallpapered. When we took off the wallpaper lots of the paint came off as well, stripped back to the bare plaster.

This is going to sound daft but whats the best way to repair peeling paint on a plaster wall?

I considered paint stripper but that's a huge task and some walls only have a small area of paint missing.

I also considered the polyfilla roll on base coat that says it can repair small cracks and uneven surfaces. But I have since seen mixed reports about how useful it really is.

Would skimming it be an option or does the paint have to come off first?

    any advice gratefully received.

    thanks

    Richard
