    Hi there,

Got this little guy off the cat this morning. Didn't think he was going to make it, but gave him some milk and brandy and left him in a box in a quiet room and he's a lot more lively now. Not sure what to do with him now though, he seems too young to fly or find his way home.

Do you know what he is? And what are his chances?

    Many thanks.

A baby Wren perhaps? To be honest, to give it any kind of chance of surviving I think you probably need to either get it back in it's nest ASAP, or get it to someone like Kildare Animal Foundation or Animal Magic Rescue ASAP.

Hmm, had a look around, but have no idea where the nest was. It could be anywhere!

In Kerry, so Kildare is probably out, but I'll give the other one a shout. Thanks very much. He's cheeping away now, probably looking for his parents :(

He's big enough to have fledged. If the cat got him in the garden then get him back out there and in to a bush or hedge as soon as possible. And keep the cat in!

A general note. Do not give milk or brandy to birds as,among other things, they are lactose intolerant.
