Well I want to move closer to college for next year, I lived in Tallaght last year, next year I'd like a shorter cycle, anyone recommend good possibly overlooked cheaper places to rent?
I'd like a 20 mins or less cycle, Tallaght was ok 30 mins in and 40 home but half that would be more suitable.
    Cheers in advance.
PS where to look besides DAft

The National College of Ireland in the IFSC accepts non-NCI students in their on-campus student accommodation. It is under 20 minutes to walk.

Inchicore is a straight forward 20 min cycle. I'll be doing it myself. I suppose anywhere in or very close to the Grand Canal as far as Bluebell would a 20 min or less cycle. Or maybe D7 and out as far as Chapelizod.

I've lived in Rathmines, the Liberties (Meath St), Smithfield, Kilmainham, and now Stoneybatter. All within ~20 minutes cycle from campus. You can find places for relatively cheap in most of those areas.

Phibsboro is another option. It's quite cheap.

Was going to say Phibsboro also or Drumcondra around the canal. 30ish minutes walk from TCD.

Crumlin/Kimmage is a 20 minute cycle, need to be aware of particular roads/areas that might be a bit dodgy but plenty of settled safe areas in there too plus rents wouldn't be as high as some more popular areas

rent.ie is a good place to start - good selection of properties available and other options e.g. digs etc. The NCI is good however prices may be a little steep. What budget have you in mind OP?

Drimnagh. Lived there in second year, rent was ~330 p/m I think (might be higher now I guess). Cycle was around 20 mins.

Crumlin is slightly closer, not as nice though.

I have a room to rent in a 3 bedroom apartment on Belvedere Road, Dublin 1. It is a 25 walk to TCD, 10 minute cycle.
