    So this is going to be my first custom PC. It is mainly going to be used for gaming and just general usage, no heavy Photoshop or video editing. Here are my parts, is there any parts here that I should change, are they all worth it and will they suit a gaming PC ? And is the hyper evo 212 a sufficient cooler for the i7.

    Motherboard == MSI Z87-GD65 Gaming --- 123.78E
    CPU == Intel Core i7 4770K --- 280.32E
    Graphics card == Gigabyte GeForce GTX 770 Windforce 3X OC 2GB --- 268.94E
    Memory == 16GB-Kit Corsair Vengeance Low Profile --- 133.49E
    CPU cooler == Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO --- 27.89E
    SSD == Samsung SSD 840 EVO Basic 250GB --- 109.99E
    HDD == Seagate Barracuda 7200 1000GB --- 45.81E
    Power Supply == Corsair Enthusiast Series RM850, Modular, 80 Plus Gold 850 Watt --- 122.71E

    I'd drop the i7 for an i5 4690k. I'd probably switch the 770 for an r9 290 also. 16gb is overkill if not editing, just go with 8. Also an ssd, hdd, i5 4670k (just for reference as the psu calc doesn't have the newer 4690k), and the r9 290 only require 355w, so a 500w power supply would be fine, and allow for upgrading.

    Ok thanks for the advice ill go down to the 4690k and 8gb of ram but the r9 290 is considerably more expensive than the gtx 770, is it a lot better and worth the extra ~100E and does it pair well with an intel cpu or should i go with something like the amd fx-8350. Thanks for all the help.

    The r9 290 is quite a leap in performance over the 770 and Intel cpu are much better for gaming then amd cpus.

    Ok sounds great but is it ok to have an intel cpu and amd graphics ?
    And also ive heard of bottle-necking where the cpu is not fast enough to keep up with the gpu, is there any chance of this happening here as its an i5-4690k with a r9-290 ?

    Intel CPU and AMD graphics cards work fine. Make sure if you get an r9 29 , make sure it is a decent brand r9 290. as they run hot/loud.
