    Folks,

Going to Legoland with a few families in July.

Looking for some fairly priced hotel, clean comfortable, doesn't have to be the Ritz.

Going with kids aged from 6 to 16.

    Any advice gratefully received.

you driving or relying on busses or whatnot to get around?

if you check premier inn hotels then you cant go wrong, and if youve a car then youve a wider choice of whats possible.
They have deals from 29pound a night per room (got another mail over the week reminding me!) and breakfast is 7pounds per adult or so but kids eat for free so overall very good value.

And accomodation is as good as a "4star" in Ireland, if not better (not hard to be fair) but they just dont have all the services like a bar/ restaurant/laundry service etc, but they always have a separate bar on site across the car park or nearby where you can get fed and watered, and where breakfast is to be had

EDIT, and another positive about the Premier inns, they all have proper 40inch tvs with properly installed freeview on it, so cbeebees, cbbc, citv etc for the kids all day long if you need to keep them occupied for a half hour when packing or whatever!

We stayed in the Premier Inn Slough last year when visiting Legoland. It was bland but grand, friendly service, good breakfast, comfortable room easily big enough for the 4 of us. Big Sainsbury's next door and huge Tesco's just down the street help with the picnics etc., and the train into London too.

The somewhat counter intuitive thing about those business hotels is that they can often be cheapest at weekends and during the holiday period.

Hilton are currently running a 33%off sale. If booking in their site there's also often the option to get breakfast on a deal for not a lot more than the best price for room only - but you have to remember to search down the list of available room packages as the cheapest isn't necessarily right at the top.
