Hi! I got new bearings put in my bottom bracket.
The cranks are now tight and solid, but on every rotation there is a creak..
I have been advised that BB Press fit brackets are troublesome & do have this issue...
I was advised to grease the bracket with copper grease..
Another alternative is to convert the bb bracket into a standard screw-in bracket..

    Any thoughts?

    Thanks a mil!

That is not a solution. The original BB should work as it was designed to do so...

    1. Get a high quality set of bearings. They can't be purchased in a bike shop though (well, I don't know any bike shop or online store selling good quality bearings). You get them in an engineerig shop or from a place that specialise in suppling bearings.

    2. Install the bearings correctly, it is important. And use bearing retaining compound (medium strength) to fix tem into the sleeve.

    3. Use bearing grease only on the contact points when you finally slide in the crank spindle into the BB.

Hey! Thanks for getting back to me!
My lbs put new bearings in, but retained the original cups which were in good condition... They said they would have a look again & apply copper grease...

I will ask them about your advice; thank u!

    No problem,

From what you are saying, I am not sure if this is the BB30 press fit system. My advise was with the BB30 in mind.
    Good luck anyway.

    Would worry about this,
Copper grease is an anti-seize compound, not a lubricant like your normal grease,
It's not designed for use on moving parts such as bearings.

if its a bb86 with sram cranks then the cups are probably not shoved in fully and friction is taking place between the cups and cranks
