It was held on with paint only today when I noticed so was very lucky. Any advice on how to secure it would be greatly appreciated.

    Cheers guys

Clean the back of the piece of trim and the section of door panal where it fits. Stick it back with 3M double sided tape. Ou can probably get it in your local motor factors

Holy cow, that was a pretty brutal respray.
You know its not just a case of sticking it back on, the paint around it is gone too

I'm assuming since he's not sure how to affix trim pieces, he wont be attempting the respray himself, so I figured it for a case of fix it back till/if the paint job is repaired

Jesus H Christ, that's a sh1te design. Gluing the rubbing strip straight onto the paint?

That's not the way it was supposed to be stuck on. You can see the original door was silver vs platinum now.

Hey guys.thanks for the replies. I brought it back to the garage I got it in 8 months ago to get it sorted within the 6 month guarantee expressing my displeasure. They said they would sort it and made an absolute heams of it. To the extent where I am raging. A child would have done a cleaner job they even used the wrong coloured compound.
They are getting on the right colour compound and assured me they would do it better and cleaner this time.it isn't even stuck on properly. No idea what I am going to do now.

    Have a look. .

Only way to fix that properly is to repaint both the door & moulding before sticking the moulding back on with something like 3M acrylic plus tape.

The paint is missing from the door. The door needs to be repainted properly and the moulding then stuck on. The only reason you can see the glue is they're using it to cover the fact that the paint is missing.

Thanks guys. How much would that cost roughly? Would you expect that to be covered under a second hand guarantee?
